I just love this set of Culver LTD glassware!

Lemon Design Large Punch Bowl filled with 8 Roly Poly Tumbers

It is such a cheerful bright design with the lemons scattered around. I just had to have them – they will brighten up the darkest winter afternoons as you sip your afternoon beverage of choice, and of course are perfect on the patio when it is nice enough to sit out.

There are several sets available on AuntJanesAttic right now – a set of 5 tall ice teas, 2 sets of 4 roly poly style tumblers and a large punch or salad bowl.

The design features cut and uncut bright yellow lemons, dark green lemon leaves and tiny white flowers. They are all marked Culver LTD on bottom of the design.

I did a little research and could not find the pattern name anywhere. Typically Culver did designs that featured the artwork done in gold – the gilded Valencia pattern is one of Culver’s most popular patterns.

Culver glass is a popular USA made collectible. This set is probably from the 50′s, 60′s or 70′s.  It is so cool to find them in such nice condition – they have been protected from the damaging dishwasher (please do not put your collectible glassware in the dishwasher), plus the paint is still in very good condition. My guess is that is was Grandma’s “good” set, and wasn’t used much.

  1. Hi J, I really do not know much about the Culver Glassware Company – I have read that Culver LTD started in the 1930′s. As far as I know, there are very few named patterns – but I think their designs are great! Every piece I have seen has been very high quality as far as the paint job and the design. I haven’t been able to find a book specifically on Culver, or even one that refers to it, I would also like to learn more about the company and their designs. I hope you can find out more, and if you do please let me know!

Any informaion you can give me on Culver Glassware. Don’t know anything about the company, when they started, when they stopped making glassware, etc. I have some that look like Valencia pattern only with powder blue diamonds, and some from a yard sale that the 92 year old woman said were a wedding present in 1939. (pattern unknown)
Any help/info would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

I have Culver glasses, but do not know anything about them. Some look
like the Valencia pattern only with powder blue diamonds instead of green. Also a set I picked up at a yard sale (!) that the 92 year old woman said were a wedding present in 1939. No idea of the pattern. I have no info on the Culver Co. when they started, when they stopped making glasses, etc. Any info or resources would be greatly appreciated. I’m not too computer literate, but will try to respond as best I can. Thanks!
